After leaving Delaware I managed to weedle my way through two bouts of college without taking one Math course. I even acquired an AA and BS in the process. My studies were in natural history/ outdoor education. Once done i discovered Americas best kept secret...... the outdoor education cult. Basically you work at a camp and teach kids natural history in a fun and exciting manner. Perks included working at will contracts from 3-9 months out of the year, Most had benefits, Got paid to teach/lead kids outside. you get to explore LOTS of different regions of our great nation, Most meet a spouse. Its most likened to an extended college. Till this year I havent paid a dime for housing...even with kids!
So i cruised the nationwide(including Hawaii) camp scene for about 10 years with my wife till jen and I settled in Oregon, The greatest state of all time from a natural history perspective. We were there almost seven years and fully explored the coast, mountains and desert(there is desert in the rainy northwest).
We parted ways from our first daughters ancestral homeland when our job started challenging the logistics of family living in a camp environment. We headed east(sigh) in 2004, had another kid and now live in Adirondack park, mostly in the Lake George Region where Jen and i work( we have lived and worked together since 1995) for Adirondack camp. so now i plan and coordinate all wilderness and offsite trips here. I dont get out much with the kids, I usually just hand them gear, staff, and a van and wave bye. But once the season is over its me and 3 million acres baby!

School Story:

The more I think about it I cant believe how easy it was to leave school and return at any given time of the day. Who was supervising me?

Me and my hiking all-stars in the high peak. I'm constantly amazed at the constitution of some of these kids. This was a 14 mile
day hike!

Early morning swim with the girls. They have reintroduced me to the simple fact that it's fun to swim.
